Winter Storm Watch issued January 2 at 2:16PM CST until January 5 at 6:00PM CST by NWS Wichita KS

* WHAT…Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow
accumulations between 4 and 9 inches, sleet accumulations up to
one tenth of an inch, and ice accumulations between one tenth and
four tenths of an inch possible. Winds could gust as high as 45
mph.

* WHERE…Portions of Central and South Central Kansas.

* WHEN…From Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Roads will likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout
conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous if not
impossible and potentially life-threatening. Power outages and
tree damage are likely due to the ice and strong wind gusts.
