Lake Effect Snow Warning issued January 3 at 1:54PM EST until January 5 at 6:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY

* WHAT…Moderate lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 8
to 15 inches in the most persistent lake snows, spread out over
the next several days. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will
produce areas of blowing and drifting snow.

* WHERE…Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie
Counties. The greatest snowfall will be across the higher terrain
inland from Lake Erie, south of the Buffalo Southtowns.

* WHEN…Until 6 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Travel will be difficult at times with snow covered
roads. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility.
The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday evening commute.
