Winter Storm Warning issued January 3 at 1:36PM CST until January 5 at 3:00PM CST by NWS Wichita KS

* WHAT…Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
accumulations between 1 and 5 inches for areas south of US Highway
50 and between 5 and 10 inches for areas along and north of US
Highway 50. Sleet accumulations around one third of an inch and
ice accumulations between one tenth and one half of an inch. Winds
gusting as high as 50 mph resulting in near-blizzard conditions.

* WHERE…Portions of Central, South Central, and Southeast Kansas.

* WHEN…From 6 AM Saturday to 3 PM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice
and gusty winds. Travel could be nearly impossible. Widespread
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
