…ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL OVER SOUTHERN IOWA SATURDAY NIGHT
AND SUNDAY…

.A winter storm will move into the on Saturday night and bring
accumulating snowfall across parts of southern Iowa. The highest
snowfall amounts will fall near the Missouri border where
accumulations of 6 to 9 inches will be possible with even higher
amounts forecast over northern Missouri. Dry air will be funneling
into Iowa with winds from the northeast averaging 10 to 20 mph and
this will result in a sharp cutoff in snowfall amounts, with lower
amounts in the northern part of a given county and higher amounts in
the southern part of the county. Any shift in the predicted storm
track will therefore have significant impacts on forecast snowfall
amounts, so be sure to monitor the latest forecast updates heading
into the weekend.
