Winter Weather Advisory issued January 3 at 1:27AM PST until January 3 at 10:00PM PST by NWS Reno NV

* WHAT…Snow. Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches above 7000 feet
with 10 to 15 inches along highest mountain peaks west of Highway
89. 1 to 4 inches at Lake Tahoe level and around Truckee. Snowfall
rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely at the passes Friday
afternoon. Wind gusts up to 45 mph with ridge winds gusting over
100 mph. Wave heights of 2 to 4 feet on Lake Tahoe.

* WHERE…Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN…From 10 AM this morning to 10 PM PST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult, especially across
mountain passes such as Donner, Mt Rose, Echo, and Carson Friday
afternoon and evening. The hazardous conditions will impact the
Friday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
