* IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to
these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Subzero temperatures of 10 degrees below
zero or colder along the Klondike Highway have persisted into
Saturday and will continue through Saturday evening.
Temperatures near sea level in Skagway are expected to continue
in the single digits overnight. Sustained wind speeds of 25 to
35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph will cause dangerously cold wind
chills through early Sunday morning with the coldest values
near White Pass.
