Special Weather Statement issued January 5 at 5:29PM CST by NWS Lake Charles LA

At 529 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Ridgecrest to 14 miles east of High Island.
Movement was east at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
objects is possible.

Locations impacted include…
Chataignier, Cottonport, Cheneyville, Basile, Bayou Chicot, Goudeau,
Topsy, Hayes, Moss Bluff, Lake Ophelia National Wildlife Refuge,
Cameron, Moreauville, Duralde, St. Landry, Lacassine, Sabine Pass,
Johnsons Bayou, Whiteville, Kinder, and Dupont.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 21 and 64.
Interstate 210 between mile markers 1 and 12.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 32 and 60.
