Snow showers will develop this afternoon and continue into the
evening across portions of the North Carolina mountains. The snow
showers will be more common in the higher elevations along the
Tennessee border but could occur over the Balsams and lower
elevations of the border counties, possibly into Buncombe County.
The snow showers should retreat to the higher elevations along the
Tennessee border late in the evening then taper off overnight.
Accumulations will range from a Dusting to possibly 2 inches in
the lower elevations, with 1 to 4 inches in the higher elevations
of the Smokies. Watch out for slippery spots on roads if traveling
across the higher elevations tonight.
