A cold start to the morning throughout North and Central Florida this morning in the wake of yesterday’s cold front which has now pushed offshore from the Florida Keys.
Strong high pressure over the Central U.S. will bring much colder and drier air southward leading to mostly sunny conditions and breezy wind gusts near 10-15 mph throughout the day (near 0% chance of rain).
Sensitive tolocally elevated wildfire conditions will develop across Northeast Florida and Suwannee Valley along the I-75 corridor where relative humidity values will fall near or below critical thresholds across moderate drought conditions.
Despite sunshine-filled skies, temperatures will struggle to reach the upper 40s to low 50s across North Florida, low to middle 50s across Central Florida and upper 50s to middle 60s across South Florida and the Keys.
Clear skies and cold temperatures will allow for widespread freeze tonight throughout North Florida, Nature Coast and extending into the northern Peninsula.
Low temperatures will fall into the middle to upper 20s and low 30s throughout North Florida and portions of Nature Coast, middle toupper 30s to low 40s across Central Florida and 40s to middle 50s across South Florida.
Freeze Watches have been issued throughout interior Northeast Florida and the northern Peninsula as temperatures as low as 27-30-degrees can be expected.
Freeze Warnings will go into effect tonight for portions of Nature Coast as temperatures as low as 31-33-degrees are expected.
Slightly elevated winds overnight and early Wednesday morning will lead to wind chills (feels-like temperatures) well below freezing across North Florida and southward into the northern Peninsula.
Cold Weather Advisories have been issued along portions of the western Panhandle, and may be expanded throughout North Florida.
Feels-like temperatures in the upper 10s tomiddle 20s can be expected throughout North Florida and the Suwannee Valley and upper 20s middle 30s throughout interior Central Florida.
A moderate to high risk for rip currents will persist throughout most beaches across the state with northerly winds and lingering ocean swells offshore.
