Winter Weather Advisory issued January 7 at 3:43PM AKST until January 8 at 6:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Rain falling on ice at lower elevations. Snow and blowing
snow through Thompson Pass, with visibility as low as one half
mile. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches and winds
gusting as high as 35 mph through the Pass.

* WHERE…Valdez up to Thompson Pass.

* WHEN…Until 6 AM AKST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are
possible. Reduced visibility through Thompson Pass.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Rain falling on frozen surfaces will
continue to produce slick conditions on untreated roads and
other surfaces.
