Winter Weather Advisory issued January 9 at 1:03PM AKST until January 10 at 12:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation and areas of heavy snow. Additional
snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches.

* WHERE…Western Kenai Peninsula.

* WHEN…Until midnight AKST tonight.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Heavy snow falling
onto wet roadways may create slushy or icy conditions. Snowfall
rates of an inch an hour are possible in the band of heavy snow.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A band of locally heavy snowfall is
currently over the western Kenai Peninsula. Winds in the Kenai
and Soldotna area are causing some warmer surface conditions,
which will limit accumulations. Areas farther south with less
wind have been observing more accumulation.
