SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY OVER
MUCH OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES…
.The previous Red Flag Warning was cancelled a little early as
winds continue to rapidly weaken from the previous event. The
next enhancement of winds is on track to start developing during
the day on Saturday, then peak overnight Saturday into Sunday.
With continued very dry conditions, the is a high risk for Red
Flag Warnings. As a result, Fire Weather Watches have been issued
which will likely be upgraded to Red Flag Warnings on Saturday.
The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is
in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. The
previous Red Flag Warning has been cancelled.
* WINDS…Northeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts 50 mph. Local
gusts of 50 to 70 mph in the San Gabriel Mountains, Santa Susana
Mountains, and western Santa Monica Mountains.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Minimums 10 to 20 percent common.
* IMPACTS…If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable
for very rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior,
including long range spotting, which would threaten life and
property.
