With the winter storm winding down across the area, the focus will
shift to the refreezing of roadways through Saturday morning, as
the mercury drops well below the freezing mark. This will lead to
very hazardous driving conditions as widespread black ice forms.
There could also be some freezing fog that forms overnight, leading
to reduced visibilities.
Motorists will need to remain alert overnight and Saturday morning
for icy spots on area roadways, especially bridges and overpasses,
as well as most secondary roads. Slow down and allow plenty of extra
time to reach your destination. Temperatures are expected to climb
above the freezing mark by Saturday afternoon.
Be sure to check road conditions before traveling in these areas. Visit
the Arkansas Department of Transportation’s website Idrivearkansas.com
for the latest road and traffic conditions.
