Winter Storm Warning issued January 12 at 2:41PM AKST until January 13 at 9:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow. Visibility reduced to one quarter
mile or less at times. Additional snow accumulation of 12 to 24
inches.

* WHERE…Thompson Pass.

* WHEN…Until 9 AM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Heavy snow, with snow rates of 1 to 2
inches per hour, will persist through at least early afternoon
at the top of the pass. Intensity will then vary after this
point, with periods of heavy snow lasting all the way through
Monday morning. Lower elevations of the pass will see mostly
rain as warmer air moves in today, but will change back to
snow Monday morning.
