Winter Weather Advisory issued January 12 at 2:41PM AKST until January 13 at 9:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow, blowing snow, freezing rain, and rain. Freezing
rain on top of cold, snow-covered roads. Heavy snow closer to
Thompson Pass and along the Glenn Highway corridor west of
Glennallen. Total snow accumulation of 6 to 12 inches for the
Glenn Highway corridor and 12 to 24 inches possible toward
Thompson Pass.

* WHERE…The southern to western portions of the Copper River
Basin, including the Richardson Highway toward Thompson Pass
and the Glenn Highway west of Glennallen to around Chickaloon.

* WHEN…Until 9 AM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A wintry mix of precipitation is occurring
along the Richardson Highway south of the Edgerton Highway south
to Thompson Pass. Precipitation will be heavy at times through
Monday morning. For the Glenn Highway corridor west of
Glennallen the heaviest snow is occurring now and will taper off
later this afternoon into the evening.
