Rip Current Statement issued January 14 at 3:37AM ChST until January 18 at 4:00AM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU

* WHAT…Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE…East facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN…Through late Friday night.

* IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Surf along east facing reefs is expected to
hover around 9 ft, as pulses of higher north swell and trade swell
pass through the region. The high risk of rip currents has been
extended through late Friday night. Surf along north facing reefs
may become hazardous at times, extending the high risk of rip
currents to these reefs. A high surf advisory along north facing
reefs remains a possibility.
