Winter Storm Warning issued January 13 at 5:38PM AKST until January 14 at 6:00AM AKST by NWS Juneau AK

…HEAVY SNOW FOR THE KLONDIKE HIGHWAY FROM TWO SYSTEMS…

.A front advancing from the west is bringing a surge of moisture
to the Klondike Highway. Cooler temperatures aloft will keep
precipitation as snow along the Klondike. A second system is
bringing more snow with most accumulation happening along the
Klondike and Haines Highways. Warming temperatures tonight along
the Highways will result in diminishing snowfall accumulations.
The system will depart on Tuesday.

* WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 9
inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph.

* WHERE…Municipality of Skagway.

* WHEN…Until 6 AM AKST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult and is discouraged
unless it is an emergency. Strong winds could cause tree
damage.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Near sea level, precipitation will remain
as rain. The next system will likewise see the majority of
snow accumulation happening near White Pass.
