Rip Current Statement issued January 15 at 3:42AM ChST until January 18 at 4:00AM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU

* WHAT…For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to
9 feet in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous
rip currents.

* WHERE…For High Surf Advisory along north facing reefs of the
Marianas. For High Risk of Rip Currents along north and east
facing reef of the Marianas.

* WHEN…For the High Surf Advisory, until 6 AM ChST Friday. For
the High Rip Current Risk, through late Friday night.

* IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
