Winter Weather Advisory issued January 15 at 1:49PM AKST until January 18 at 12:00PM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45
mph will reduce visibility to 1/2 mile or less.

* WHERE…Lower Kobuk Valley, Northern Seward Peninsula and
Upper Kobuk Valleys.

* WHEN…From 9 AM Friday to noon AKST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. The cold wind
chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on
exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
