Winter Weather Advisory issued January 15 at 3:57PM AKST until January 17 at 6:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations
of up to 4 inches. Easterly winds gusting as high as 40 to 50
mph.

* WHERE…Kuskokwim Delta from the Kuskokwim River west, and
Nunivak Island. This includes the communities of Bethel,
Kasigluk, and Tuntutuliak, as well as coastal communities from
Kongiganak north towards Newtok.

* WHEN…From 4 PM Thursday to 6 AM AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
will likely reduce visibility to one-half mile or less.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The worst conditions are forecast along
the coast and on Nunivak Island, with localized blizzard
conditions possible. Temperatures are forecast to warm above
freezing by Friday morning, leading to improved visibilities and
a transition to rain or a rain/snow mix.
