High Wind Warning issued January 17 at 11:26AM MST until January 17 at 10:00PM MST by NWS Midland/Odessa TX

* WHAT…For the Blowing Dust Advisory, visibility between
one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust. For the High Wind
Warning, west winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* WHERE…In New Mexico, Eddy County Plains, and Southern Lea
County. In Texas, Eastern Culberson, Loving, Ward, and Winkler
Counties, and Reeves County Plains.

* WHEN…For the Blowing Dust Advisory, until 6 PM MST /7 PM CST/
this evening. For the High Wind Warning, until 10 PM MST /11 PM
CST/ this evening.

* IMPACTS…Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility.
Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles
like campers, vans, and tractor trailers. Gusty winds may blow
around unsecured objects. Damaging winds may topple a few trees
and possibly knock out some power lines. Damage to weaker
structures is also possible. Severe turbulence near the mountains
will be hazardous for low flying light aircraft. Aviation
interests may experience localized but extreme turbulence, or
strong downward airflows if flying in the near the Guadalupe
Mountains.
