Cold Weather Advisory issued January 18 at 8:56PM CST until January 21 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Sioux Falls SD

* WHAT…Very cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero expected from
east central South Dakota into southwest Minnesota. Very cold wind
chills as low as 25 below zero through the Missouri River Valley.

* WHERE…Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south
central, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN…For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until noon CST Sunday.
For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 3 AM Monday to noon CST
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is
exposed to these temperatures.
