* WHAT…Lake effect snow and patchy blowing snow. Additional snow
accumulations between 6 and 14 inches, mainly Munising eastward
along and north of M-28; isolated amounts up to 20 inches. An
additional inch or less of lake effect snow expected from Trenary
westward. Winds gusting as high as 25 to 35 mph will cause
occasional whiteout conditions in blowing snow near the lakeshore.
* WHERE…Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft Counties.
* WHEN…Until 7 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
will impact the morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Wind chills are also expected to lower to 10
below to near 20 below zero late tonight into Sunday morning, and
20 below zero and colder Sunday night into Monday. Therefore,
dress warmly and have a winter survival kit in your vehicle if
venturing out this weekend and early next week.
