* WHAT…For the first Cold Weather Advisory starting this evening,
very cold wind chills from 13 to 20 expected. For the second Cold
Weather Advisory tomorrow evening, very cold wind chills from 10
to 15 expected. For the Extreme Cold Watch, dangerously cold wind
chills as low as 5 possible.
* WHERE…Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
central Louisiana and southeast Texas.
* WHEN…For the first Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM this evening
to noon CST Monday. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 6
PM Monday to 6 PM CST Tuesday. For the Extreme Cold Watch, from
Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. Wind chill values
can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Very cold
temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
