Cold Weather Advisory issued January 20 at 1:51PM CST until January 22 at 9:00AM CST by NWS Brownsville TX

* WHAT…For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
as low as 18 expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously
cold wind chills as low as 15 expected. For the Freeze Warning,
sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected. For the second
Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 19
expected. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low
as 22 possible.

* WHERE…Brooks, Jim Hogg, Starr, and Zapata Counties.

* WHEN…For the first Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM this evening
to 3 AM CST Tuesday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 3 AM to 9
AM CST Tuesday. For the Freeze Warning, from 3 AM to 10 AM CST
Tuesday. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM Tuesday
to 9 AM CST Wednesday. For the Freeze Watch, from Tuesday evening
through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. Death is possible to unprepared
people and pets. An extended period of freezing temperatures could
cause ruptured water pipes. Wind chill values can lead to
hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Take steps now to finish
protecting cold sensitive plants and crops. Frost and freeze
conditions could damage crops, other sensitive vegetation and
possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
