Extreme Cold Warning issued January 20 at 12:14AM CST until January 20 at 12:00PM CST by NWS North Platte NE

* WHAT…For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills in the
negative 20s. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind
chills lower than 30 below zero expected.

* WHERE…Portions of north central, panhandle, and west central
Nebraska.

* WHEN…For the Extreme Cold Warning, until noon CST /11 AM MST/
today. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from noon CST /11 AM MST/
today to noon CST /11 AM MST/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite
on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Frostbite and
hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these
temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could
cause ruptured water pipes.
