Marine Weather Statement issued January 22 at 4:35AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH

Single digit temperatures are occurring over Lake Erie this
morning and will continue through this afternoon. Water
temperatures in the central basin are near 33 degrees. Rapid ice
growth is occurring and could close shipping channels on Lake
Erie.

Vessels traveling through Lake Erie should be aware of the
potential for rapid ice growth. Plan accordingly to avoid
enclosure in the ice.
