The Ventura County Air Pollution Control District has issued an air
quality alert due to increased particulate matter from wildfire smoke
in Fillmore/Piru, Santa Paula, Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, the
Conejo Valley, and Simi Valley/Moorpark. The air quality alert is in
effect until 12:00 pm Friday January 24, 2025.
Localized air quality could fluctuate depending on wind conditions.
Particulate matter can vary hour by hour and change frequently; at times
producing unhealthy air quality in Ventura County.
Forecast AQI colors are meant to be as representative as possible for
the 24-hour day. Air quality may fluctuate and is likely to be better
or worse than is indicated for the full day.
Exposure to particle pollution can cause serious health problems,
aggravate lung disease, cause asthma attacks and acute bronchitis,
and increase risk of respiratory infections. Residents are advised to
use caution as conditions warrant. People with heart or lung diseases
should follow their doctors advice for dealing with episodes of
unhealthy air quality. Additionally, people with respiratory or heart
disease, older adults, and children should avoid prolonged exposure,
strenuous activities or heavy exertion as conditions dictate.
