Winter Storm Warningsand Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect throughout North Florida through this morning and into the afternoon as the winter storm continues to bring precipitation across Northeast Florida.
Very slick and icy conditionscan be expected this morning throughout North Florida as precipitation has fallen, accumulated and frozen over. Be very cautious if you must drive!
Extreme Cold Warnings remain in effect across the Panhandle and western Big Bend until 10:00 AM EST/11:00 AM CST for those wind chills in the single digits to teens.
Cold Weather Advisoriesalso remain in effect through the mid-morning hours across Northeast Florida, Nature Coast and portions of Central Florida for wind chills in the 20s.
Regardless of winter weather, brutally cold temperatures can be expected this morning with most areas not rising above freezing until the mid-to-early afternoon hours.
Eventually high temperatures will reach the 30sacross North Florida, with portions of the western Panhandle not rising above freezing at all.
Sunshine will return across North Florida, which will help for snow and ice to begin to melt later today, but with cold temperatures ongoing throughout the day slick and slushy roads can be expected.
Breezy wind gusts of 15-20 mph can be expected across the Peninsula with stronger wind gusts of 20-30 mph along East-Central Florida and along the Northeast Florida coast.
Wind Advisories remain in effect through the mid-morning hours across the Northeast Florida coast until mid-morning for wind gusts upwards of 30-40 mph.
Dense Fog has developed this morning across portions of South Florida reducing visibility to ¼ of a mile or less at times but should gradually lift by the mid-morning hours.
The low pressure systems cold front will continue to bring scattered showers throughout Central and into South Florida this morning and afternoon before dissipating (45-60% chance of rain).
Any precipitation that has melted during the day and not dried up across North Florida will re-freeze tonight, and black ice can be expected Thursday morning.
Another round of brutally and dangerous cold temperatures can be expected throughout North Florida.
Low temperatures in the teens to low 20scan be expected across the Panhandle and western Big Bend,middle to upper 20s across Northeast Florida and low to middle 30s throughout the Nature Coast.
Dangerously cold and potentially life-threatening wind chills will return across North Florida, especially the Panhandle, where wind chills in the single digits to teens can be expected through the Suwannee River Valley and 20s throughout Northeast Florida towards Nature Coast.
Extreme Cold Warnings will go into effect overnight across the Panhandle and western Big Bend, with Cold Weather Advisories elsewhere.
Wind chills in the low to middle 30swill also develop across portions of West-Central and interior Central Florida.
A high risk for rip currents can be expected across all East and West Coast beaches, with a moderate risk across the Panhandle.
Dangerous waves of 6-9′ can be expected across the Peninsula throughout the day, with breaking waves further offshore upwards of 9-12′ off Treasure Coast beaches. High Surf Advisories are in effect through this evening along Northeast and East-Central Florida beaches.
