Rip Current Statement issued January 23 at 4:00AM AST until January 25 at 6:00AM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT…Life-threatening rip currents due to breaking waves of up
to 6 feet.

* WHERE…In Puerto Rico, north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico,
and Culebra. In the Virgin Islands, easternmost beaches of St.
Croix.

* WHEN…Through at least late Friday night.

* IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water, where it becomes difficult to
return to safety.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A pulse of a small long-period
northwesterly may extend the areal coverage of hazardous beach
conditions to Rincon and Aguada on Friday.
