Temperatures across south Mississippi and southeast Louisiana have
fallen below freezing this evening, with most locations reporting
temperatures in the 20s at 8 PM CST. Area roadways that had been
wet or remained snow covered during the afternoon are likely to
experience refreezing tonight. Dangerous travel conditions are
expected to continue until surface temperatures warm above
freezing around mid-morning Thursday.
Be especially careful on bridges and overpasses if it is necessary
to travel overnight, as these locations often freeze first.
Motorists should check with local officials and Departments of
Transportation for the latest road conditions and travel
advisories.
