Winter Storm Watch issued January 22 at 6:55PM AKST until January 25 at 3:00AM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK

* WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 12
inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.

* WHERE…Noatak Valley and Lower Kobuk Valley.

* WHEN…From 6 AM AKST Thursday through late Friday night.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could
bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Potential for rain to mix with snow. Due to
the mixing of precipitation, snow may become moisture-laden and
dense. Heaviest snowfall will be Thursday night. Heavier
snowfall will be at higher elevations.
