Re-freezing of snow and sleet melt is expected this evening, as
temperatures plummet well below freezing after dark. This will
create areas of slippery black ice, especially in places that have
not already completely dried, or places that have remained shaded
through the day. This includes roadways that remain shaded by
trees or by overpasses, or anyplace on the shaded north side of
buildings.
If you must be out this evening, be ready for the sudden re-
freezing of snowmelt water, and the formation of black ice.
Slushy snow will become icy and hard. If driving, slow way down
before encountering icy spots. Allow extra space between you and
surrounding vehicles. If walking on foot, avoid icy spots if you
can.
