Flood Advisory issued January 25 at 7:54PM AKST until January 27 at 9:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

Periods of moderate to heavy rain combined with frozen ground could
cause flooding through the weekend.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues, along with
high flows and debris on the Little Susitna River.

* WHERE…Low Lying Roadways, Urban Areas With Poor Drainage And
Along Flashy Streams. High flows and debris on the Little Su River
may cause flooding in lowland and flood prone areas along the
Little Susitna River.

* WHEN…Until 900 AM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS…Moderate to heavy rainfall on frozen ground will quickly
turn to runoff and cause minor flooding in low lying areas, and in
locations with poor drainage. Rainfall will cause quick rises to
streams and could flood low roads, yards and basements.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 655 PM AKST, rainfall was beginning to move into the lower
Matanuska Valley. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall of up
to 2.5 inches can be expected to fall on the area through the
weekend, causing rapid rises on area streams with flooding
possible along roadways, in urban areas and in areas with
poor drainage.

At 722 PM AKST, avalanche debris has reportedly dammed the
Little Su River near the State Park Campground and flooding
the area.

– Wasilla, Palmer, Houston, low areas along the Parks Highway
and the southern and western regions of Knik Arm including
Goose Bay.

Be alert for flooding along roads and from clogged storm drains.
