Rip Current Statement issued January 28 at 3:44PM ChST until February 2 at 4:00PM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU

* WHAT…Dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE…East facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN…From Wednesday morning through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Strengthening trade swell will produce a high
risk of rip currents along east facing reefs for the latter half of
this week, especially Thursday night onward as a trade-wind surge
builds across the region. Additionally, the high risk of rip
currents may spread to north facing reefs as north swell increases
across the Marianas, which would also produce hazardous surf for
north reefs. These conditions are expected to last into the
weekend.
