* Snow Squall Warning for…
Southwestern Broome County in central New York…
Chemung County in central New York…
Southern Tioga County in central New York…
Southeastern Steuben County in central New York…
Northwestern Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania…
Northern Bradford County in northeastern Pennsylvania…

* Until 915 AM EST.

* At 835 AM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located over Nichols, or
8 miles southwest of Owego, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than
one-quarter mile. Wind gusts up to 35 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

Locations impacted include…
Chemung, Elmira, Vestal, Endicott, Corning, Southport, Barton, Big
Flats, Horseheads, and Sayre.

This includes the following highway exits…
Interstate 86/Route 17 between 42 and 66.

A low-amplitude west/southwesterly mid/upper flow pattern will prevail Days 4-6/Tue-Thu. South/southeasterly low-level flow across the western Gulf into the southern Plains will allow for northward moisture transport and daily diurnal destabilization. In the absence of any stronger shortwave troughs moving through the weak west/southwesterly flow regime, severe potential is uncertain and will likely be driven by mesoscale/local processes, precluding 15 percent probabilities at this time.
