Flood Warning issued February 8 at 10:18AM EST until February 8 at 2:30PM EST by NWS Charleston WV

* WHAT…Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.

* WHERE…A portion of southern West Virginia, including the
following counties, Boone, Fayette, Kanawha, Raleigh and Wyoming.

* WHEN…Until 230 PM EST.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1017 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated another round of
moderate to heavy rain moving back into the warned area.
Flooding is ongoing with an increasing amount of flood
reports. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible
in the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Beckley, Fayetteville, Babcock State Park, Oak Hill,
Montgomery, Chesapeake, Marmet, Mount Hope, Mabscott, Ansted,
Sophia, Belle, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers,
Gauley Bridge, Pratt, Bradley and Prosperity.
