Ohio River at Newburgh Dam and Mount Vernon.
.Recent heavy rainfall that fell upstream along the Ohio River basin
is resulting in rising river levels. At Newburgh, the river is
expected to crest just over 4 feet above flood stage Wednesday. At
Mount Vernon, the river will crest just under 4 feet above flood
stage Thursday.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Ohio River at Newburgh Dam.
* WHEN…Until Sunday evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:00 AM CST Monday the stage was 40.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 42.3
feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage early Sunday afternoon.
– Flood stage is 38.0 feet.
