* WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 6 and
15 inches with locally higher amounts of 1 to 2 feet possible
above 4500 feet elevation. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE…South Central and Southeast Siskiyou County. This includes
Mount Shasta City, Dunsmuit, McCloud, and Tennant. This also
includes portions of Interstate 5 from Black Butte summit
southward and Highway 89 east of Mount Shasta City.
* WHEN…From Wednesday evening through late Thursday night.
* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult
to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday
morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow levels will start near 2000 feet
elevation then rise in the afternoon to around 4000 feet
elevation. Snow impacts for lower elevations areas near Mount
Shasta City are most likely Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Mountains and higher terrain impacts are expected to continue
through Thursday night.
