* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Middle Oconee River near Arcade.
* WHEN…Until Friday evening.
* IMPACTS…At 20.1 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand further
into the woodlands…fields and pasture upstream and downstream
from the gage at Georgia Highway 82. A few dirt access roads and a
residential yard just downstream will be flooded with up to 4 feet
of water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:30 PM EST Thursday the stage was 20.1 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM EST Thursday was 20.1 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.9
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage early tomorrow afternoon.
– Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
21.2 feet on 11/26/1992.
