…The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia…

Etowah River Downstream I-575 at Canton affecting Cherokee County.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is occurring.

* WHERE…Etowah River Downstream I-575 at Canton.

* WHEN…Until further notice.

* IMPACTS…At 24.0 feet, Significant flooding continues generally
east of Canton near the Interstate 575 bridge. The flood waters
will top a sewer cover behind a pump station off of Riverstone
Parkway and affect the foundations of some businesses on Old Ball
Ground Highway and Keith Drive. Flood waters will be up to 3 feet
deep around the wooden structure supporting the USGS gage house
behind the pump station.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 8:45 PM EST Thursday the stage was 24.5 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 PM EST Thursday was 24.9 feet.
– Forecast…No forecast is available for this location.
– Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
24.4 feet on 08/08/2013.
