Winter Weather Advisory issued February 13 at 2:54PM AKST until February 15 at 6:00AM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations
of 7 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. Visibility
reduced to one-half mile or less at times.

* WHERE…Thompson Pass.

* WHEN…From 10 PM this evening to 6 AM AKST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Worst conditions and lowest visibilities
will occur through Friday. However, periods snow and blowing
snow snow look to linger into Saturday. On the north side of the
Pass on the Richardson Highway towards Tonsina, there is a
chance for periods of heavy snow and reduced visibility.

FEMA Extends Individual Assistance Deadline for Homeowners and Renters in Kentucky FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky homeowners and renters who suffered uninsured or underinsured damage to their property from the February Severe Storms, Flooding and Straight-line winds now have a few weeks left to apply for federal disaster assistance. FEMA has extended the application deadline to Sunday, May 25, 2025. FEMA assistance for individuals affected by the severe weather can cover rental assistance, temporary housing, home repairs, personal property losses and other disaster-related needs not covered by insurance.
