Flood Warning issued February 15 at 1:39PM EST until February 15 at 7:45PM EST by NWS Blacksburg VA

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
central Virginia, including the following counties and independent
cities, in central Virginia, Amherst. In south central Virginia,
Bedford. In southwest Virginia, Craig. In west central Virginia,
Botetourt, City of Buena Vista, City of Lexington and Rockbridge.

* WHEN…Until 745 PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water
crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 139 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible
in the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Lynchburg, Lexington, Buena Vista, Bedford, Amherst, Buchanan
and Glasgow.
