The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for…
Lake Borgne…
Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas…

* Until 115 AM CST.

* At 1221 AM CST, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from 17 nm north of
Mandeville to 26 nm north of Lower Atchafalaya River, moving east
at 30 knots.

HAZARD…Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats…damage
vessels and oil rigs…and create suddenly higher waves.
Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include…
Manchac, Lake Pontchartrain/Lake Maurepas, Orleans Marina, The Mid
Point Of The Causeway Bridge, Mandeville, Lake Maurepas, Kenner,
and Eden Isle.
