Extreme Cold Watch issued February 16 at 2:25PM CST until February 20 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Hastings NE

* WHAT…A prolonged period of dangerously cold wind chills as low
as -20 to -30 is possible.

* WHERE…Portions of north central Kansas and central, east
central, and south central Nebraska.

* WHEN…From late Monday night through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills as low as -30 could
cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. An
extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured
water pipes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The coldest wind chills will be favored
during the overnight and morning hours each day. However, even
afternoon wind chills Tuesday and Wednesday will still remain
quite cold, with values of -10 to -20 possible.
