Extreme Cold Watch issued February 16 at 7:42PM CST until February 20 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Amarillo TX

* WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 below to 25 below
zero possible.

* WHERE…Portions of the Panhandle of Oklahoma and the Panhandle of
Texas.

* WHEN…From Tuesday evening through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero
could result in hypothermia and could cause frostbite on exposed
skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will
occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Light snow accumulations will be possible on
Tuesday afternoon, and anyone that would be caught out in the snow
would be vulnerable to the extreme cold. Having a winter
preparedness kit in your car is good way to protect yourself if
you’re stranded.
