Special Weather Statement issued February 17 at 1:25AM EST by NWS State College PA

HAZARDS…A band of heavy snow accompanied by winds of up to 30 MPH
which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile.

LOCATION AND MOVEMENT…At 124 AM EST, a band of heavy snow was along
a line extending from S.B. Elliot State Park to Black Moshannon State
Park and moving east at 15 MPH.

THIS BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL BE NEAR…
S.B. Elliot State Park, Plymptonville, and Woodland around 130 AM
EST.
Lecontes Mills around 135 AM EST.

For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the
Dubois Route 255 and Snow Shoe exits, specifically from mile markers
110 to 145.

SAFETY INFO…
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time to reach your destination.

Warm and dry conditions are expected this afternoon. Coupled with breezy winds, conditions for fire are expected to be near critical. Areas along and east of I-29 are the most likely to experience near critical conditions. Humidity levels should decrease to 20-25% this afternoon as winds are weakening. Occasional gusts of 25-30 mph may create temporary periods of critical fire conditions.

* WHAT...Temperatures in the mid and upper 30s will result in frost formation. * WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio. * WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
