Meteorological Summary:
- High pressure returns across the Sunshine State today in the wake of active weather over the weekend.
- Sunday’s cold front will linger over the Florida Keys and near the southern Peninsula as it becomes stationary allowing for brief showers throughout the day (10-20% chance of rain).
- Breezy northerly to northeasterly winds will peak this morning near 10-15 mph but will gradually decline throughout the daytime hours.
- Sensitive wildfire conditions will develop this afternoon across the I-75 corridor and the interior western Peninsula as relative humidity values will drop near or below critical thresholds (25-35%) this afternoon.
- High temperatures will reach the upper 50s to lower 60s across North Florida, middle 60s to lower 70s across Central Florida and middle to upper 70s across South Florida this afternoon.
- Dry conditions will persist throughout the overnight hours, with a few spotty showers along the Florida Keys and the Southeast Florida coastline (10-15% chance of rain).
- Instances of frost will be possible late overnight and into Tuesday morning across portions of North Florida as mostly calm and clear conditions are expected. Frost Advisories may be needed early Tuesday morning across portions of the Suwannee Valley.
- Low temperatures will fall into the middle to upper 30s across North Florida, lower 40s to lower 50s across Central Florida, and 50s and 60s throughout South Florida.
- Feels-like temperatures, wind chills, will fall near or at freezing (31-33-degrees) across interior portions of North Florida by sunrise Tuesday morning.
- A moderate to high risk for rip currents can be expected to persist statewide due to elevated surf of 2-5′.
