Lake Effect Snow Warning issued February 18 at 2:09PM EST until February 19 at 6:00AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY

* WHAT…Heavy lake effect snow and areas of blowing snow.
Additional snow accumulations 12 to 18 inches in the most
persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph causing
areas of blowing and drifting snow this afternoon.

* WHERE…Northern portions of Wayne and Cayuga counties and
southern portions of Oswego County.

* WHEN…Until 6 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Travel will be extremely difficult in lake effect snow
bands. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility.
The hazardous conditions will impact today’s evening commute.
