Lower Roanoke River At Roanoke Rapids affecting Northampton and
Halifax Counties.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Lower Roanoke River at Roanoke Rapids.

* WHEN…Until further notice.

* IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and
timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters. At 10.0
feet, The public boat ramp on Rockfish Ln in Weldon is flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:00 PM EST Saturday the stage was 9.5 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:00 PM EST Saturday was 9.5 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to remain steady above flood
stage at 9.5 feet.
– Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
8.9 feet on 01/13/1992.
